Ibrahim Can Gencel Ibrahim Can Gencel

Cloud consultant at Xebia, based in Amsterdam. I build cloud-native systems end-to-end: software, infrastructure, and the automation that holds them together.

Since 2019 I've worked at most altitudes of the stack and across more industries than I expected: from avionics digital design, to high-growth startups in on-demand commerce and healthtech, to global leaders in semiconductors, finance, maritime, and nutrition. Pharma is up next.

Startups and global enterprises somehow manage to be the same job and a completely different job at the same time. I try to bring what each side does well to wherever I'm working: the velocity of the small, the rigor of the large.

I gravitate toward cloud-native designs, and I spend a lot of time on automation: turning brittle, human-run parts of a system into something that just runs. The best feedback I can get from a team is "we don't really think about it anymore."

I'm also deeply engaged with LLM systems. I've shipped a multi-agent platform to production, and I think a lot about RAG, retrieval quality, evals, and inference cost. It's one of the few areas right now where good engineering instincts still earn outsized returns.

Tools I keep coming back to: Python, Go, Terraform, AWS, Azure, PostgreSQL. Plus the LLM stack: Bedrock, vector DBs, LibreChat, and open-weights orchestration.
